The Guild offers Members a range of Activities to meet their personal interests and to offer opportunities for learning more about working with wood.
An important activity is that provided by the “Special Interest Groups” (SIGs) of the Guild. The SIGs consist of Members who share a particular interest, such as carving, making furniture, using the scrollsaw, wood turning (several SIGs for this one), marquetry, pyrography and more. SIGs usually meet once a month and the meeting time and venue are shown on the Guild Calendar and also reported in the Guild’s monthly Newsletter “Shed Notes”.
Other activities arranged by the Guild include workshops for learning new skills, sales of woodcraft made by members (at several different venues), training in operating equipment safely and efficiently in order to gain accreditation and our annual exhibition. These activities are all listed under the Activities heading.
