2012 Exhibition

The Woodcraft Guild has held exhibitions each year since 1982 so the Annual Exhibition in 2012 was the 30th “Treasures in Timber” exhibition.

The Exhibition enables members to present their latest woodcraft items to other members of the Guild and to the public. Constructive criticism by the judges provides members with an opportunity to improve their technique, design and finish.

The Judges this year were: Ashley Eriksmoen (Head of the Furniture Workshop – ANU School of Art), Martin Jud (Cabinetmaking  Stage 1 Coordinator – CIT Building and Environment) and Les Fortescue (Woodturner and Carver).

Terry O’Loughlin specializes in making high quality tools and the judges were particularly impressed with this “Plough plane” made with Cocobolo, Oak, steel and brass. It was awarded First in the “Tool making and tool-restoration” Category and also awarded the Members’ Champion.
