Special Interest Groups (SIGs)

The Special Interest Groups are the real heart of the Guild and cater for the special interests of their participants. There is no formal membership for the SIGs and members can participate in as many SIGs as they wish.

Currently there are SIGs for:

• Carving
• Furniture & Cabinet Making
• POETs (Pyrography, Ornamentation and Experimentation with Texturing)
• Restoration & Recycling
• Scroll Saw & Marquetry
• Toys & Models
• Tool Appreciation Group
• Woodturning (Incl. Saturday, Monday, Between Centres & Pen-Making SIG's)

The members of each SIG meet monthly to participate in workshops, demonstrations and group projects relevant to the SIG. These meetings are in addition to the monthly Guild meetings.

SIG meetings are held usually at the Guild Shed or occasionally at a member's workshop  and provide an excellent opportunity for members to increase their knowledge and skills in their area of special interest.
