Monthly Guild meetings are normally held at "The Shed" from 7.30 pm - 9.30 pm, on the final Wednesday of the month.  Our Shed is located on the Kambah Pool Road, Kambah, and features plenty of quality equipment for members to use, either as accredited operators, or under skilled supervision.

Our next Monthly Meeting will be on Wednesday, 29 May 2013, and the speaker will be member Jessica Bazley-Smith, who will describe her year studying for the Certificate IV Furniture Design & Technology and Fine Furniture Making at Sturt School for Wood, Mittagong.

Routine weekly activities at the Shed include:
Working Bee & member project days are Tuesdays & Thursdays, 10.00 am until about 4pm.  Do your own project, or help out with Guild projects - there is always something to do!
Project Night is Wednesday from  7:00 pm until 9:30 pm (except meeting night).  Come along and do your own thing, or receive or provide a helping hand.  Contact the Shed Boss before the night, to ensure that a coordinator is available.
We have a number of  "Special Interest Groups"   (SIGs) that concentrate on specific areas of woodcraft such as woodturning, furniture, toy making, marquetry (& intarsia), pyrography, tool-making & restoration.

An important message on Fire Safety:

The Shed will be Closed if the Fire Danger Rating is EXTREME.

The closure is a requirement of our lease with Lions Youth Haven Farm and is based on the fire danger rating given by The Emergency Services Agency. A fire danger rating of SEVERE does not invoke closure of the Shed.
On days of high fire danger please check this rating before going to the Shed, by going to the ESA website:  http://esa.act.gov.au/  (just click on this link) and you will see the Fire Danger Rating on the front page, right hand side.  (Please note that this rating is separate from any declaration of a Total Fire Ban, which of itself is not enough to bring about closure of the Shed.)
