Jeff Donne: Working green wood with an axe and knife

Jeff Donne, one of Australia’s best-known spoon carvers, will talk about working green wood. There will be a demo with woodchips and shavings, as well as slides.

Jeff learnt his craft in England from greenwood guru Mike Abbott, then developed Treecraft, Jeff’s own unique approach to working green wood based on traditional English and Swedish slöjd techniques modified by Aussie heritage bush skills.  Treecraft aims to use every part of a tree to make anything from rakes and gates and chairs, to spoons, and cups with handles and even marionettes.
